Haunted: Halloween Playlist

The rich tradition of October’s Halloween season conjures a musical identity that spans decades of popular music. In our office, we’re blasting all genres from bands like Black Sabbath and Gorillaz to troubadours like Patti Smith and Tom Waits. Halloween is distinct in feel, yet broad in how artists interpret the season of the witch.

Introduction to Haunted

A 25 track playlist featuring original songs by artists like: Jake Tittle, Jaclyn Lovey, and The Margots.

Playlist Description:

The song that sparked the idea of this playlist was “Black Cat,” by Los Angeles’ Jake Tittle. We curated a range of songs designed to lure you in an abstract haunted atmosphere. These songs capture the emotion of feeling lost, broken, cursed, and unlucky.

About the Music:

Haunted blends a menagerie of genres from indie rock to psychedelic rnb.

Song Spotlight: “Black Cat” by Jake Tittle

“Baby you look like Halloween,

Sitting next to a black cat,

I know I can be embarrassing,

Trying to make you laugh”

Tittle’s confessional, unraveling lyricism glues the abstract music production with his distorted vocal complimenting the gritty production of Jon Joseph (Mini Trees, Gungor).

More from Jake Tittle’s “Blood Offering”

Two additional tracks from Tittle’s “Blood Offering” are featured on Haunted: “Glowing,” and “Nose Bleeds (feat. illuminati hotties).

Song Spotlight: “Feelings” by Jaclyn Lovey

“And when we’re talking in your room

The way you keep your distance makes me assume

Boy, you acting like you don’t got feelings

Am I overreacting? Do you feel this?

The psychedelic neo-soul mid tempo track, “Feelings” by Jaclyn Lovey lifts the mood of the Haunted collection. Jaclyn Lovey and her producer conjure a late 70’s modulated swampy synth fused with Lovey’s psychedelic crooning. “Feelings” is the perfect track for fans of Childish Gambino, Jorja Smith, and Kali Uchis.
